I purchased a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe in December, it had a clunk in the steering, and many rattles in the front end. I took it back for repair, at least 3 times on this. First he said he replaced the steering rack, and that the struts were new. I had already taken pictures of the struts and knew they were old. The clunk turning the steering wheel was still there, twice it bound up completely trying to turn, endangering me, and people around me. I took it back, he said he would replace the steering rack, front struts, and fix the door locks that don't work. I got it back, the clunk was gone, but the new struts were squeaking. I took it to my own mechanic for inspection, they determined the struts, made by Unity, are the cheapest garbage you can buy on ebay, and reviews on ebay stated people had accidents upon their failure. The new steering rack was also leaking fluid everywhere. I took it back to him again. He said there's nothing wrong with the struts, and lied straight up saying there was no noise, the next day he called and said they replace the lock actuators on all 4 doors, but the problem was with the remote car starter. He then stated he could not find wiring diagrams for the car starter, but could put it back the way the factory had it, negating the car starter. I told him to put it back like it was, and I'll come pick it up, at this point I was completely done with this scammer. I pick up my car, remote car starter doesn't work, neither the fob, nor remote fob will do anything. When you drive the car, the doors continually attempt to lock, pulsing constantly every few seconds. I texted him this, he did not respond. So here I am, 2 months later, and 4 trips to his garage, having to miss work, inconvenience coworkers and friends for rides while he worked on my car, only to get a car that is dangerous, an erratic electrical issue which I'm told could start a fire in the car, and Kevin Gendron will do nothing. I contacted DMV and spoke with them briefly, they said to file the form, VS-35 and he will be forced to pay for me to take my car to a competent shop for repair, they further advised me that they will investigate his practices, and evaluate his ability to stay in business in NYS. I've been further advised to file in small claims court for the time I have missed from work, and any other expenses I have incurred in this transaction. Do not get anything worked on at this shop, ever. They are not competent, and you may very well end up with your life being put in danger as I have.
